Privacy policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Caketunes (the "Marketplace") collects when you browse, buy or sell on this site, why it is collected, and the choices you have about it.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Account information

  • Email address — used to sign in with one-time codes, send order confirmations and license documents, and respond to support requests.
  • Name — used on receipts and license documents.
  • Connected account — if you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive your name, email and profile picture from that provider.

1.2 Order and payment information

Orders, the products purchased, license terms selected and amounts paid are recorded to deliver files, issue licenses and provide support. Card and PayPal payment details are handled directly by our payment providers (Stripe and/or PayPal) — this site never stores full card numbers.

1.3 Seller information

Sellers additionally provide payout details and, where required for identity verification, a government-issued identity document reviewed to confirm ownership of uploaded content.

1.4 Usage data

To measure plays, visits and conversions, a random browser identifier is stored (as a cookie or local value) and used only to de-duplicate activity — it is not linked to your name unless you are signed in, and is never sold to third parties.

2. How we use this information

  • To create and secure your account, and sign you in with one-time email codes.
  • To process payments, deliver purchased files and issue license documents.
  • To send order confirmations, license documents and, if you opt in, product updates.
  • To calculate and pay Seller earnings.
  • To measure store performance (plays, visits, conversions) in aggregate, privacy-respecting form.
  • To prevent fraud, enforce these Terms and comply with legal obligations.

3. Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. Information is shared only with the services needed to run the marketplace:

  • Payment providers (Stripe, PayPal) to process payments and payouts.
  • Email delivery provider to send transactional emails (order confirmations, one-time codes, license documents).
  • Sellers, who see the buyer name and email for orders of their own products, to the extent needed for support and license administration.

4. Cookies

This site uses essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember your cart, and a small set of analytics cookies to measure store performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may prevent checkout from working correctly.

5. Data retention

Account and order data is kept for as long as your account is active and afterward for the period required by tax and accounting law. Identity documents submitted for Seller verification are kept only as long as necessary for that verification and legal record-keeping, then deleted.

6. Your rights

Depending on your country, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact support through the contact page; we will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first.

7. Security

Passwords are not used — sign-in relies on one-time codes sent to your verified email, which removes the most common way accounts are compromised. Payment details are handled entirely by our PCI-compliant payment providers and never stored on this server.

8. Children's privacy

This marketplace is not directed at children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact support and the information will be removed.

9. Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. The date of the latest version is always available on request.

10. Contact

Questions about this Privacy Policy, or requests regarding your personal data, can be sent through the contact page or support email listed on the site.
