How accurate is it?

For music with a steady tempo (hip hop, trap, pop, house…) it is usually exact. Songs that speed up or slow down get an average tempo.

Why does it show two tempos?

Half-time and double-time are both correct ways to count many beats: a trap beat can be read as 140 or 70 BPM.
